Crossroads Academy bases daily learning activities around the fact that play is a child’s work. Two year olds have a sense of independence and are filled with a high curiosity for the world around them. With this in mind, our teachers work to build trust with both you and your child while providing a sense of security and warmth to help your child build upon learned skills to prepare him or her for the transition to the Preschool classrooms.

Our Two-Year-Old classroom works heavily on self help skills, which include toilet training and dressing while the children start to experience structured large group activities. While using the Active Learning Series Curriculum for Twos, your child will also enjoy singing songs, playing games, creating art, developing language and vocabulary skills and much, much more.

Drawing from many areas of development, the Toddler classroom provides a play-centered curriculum. Toddlers are full of curiosity, excitement for exploration and having fun. Our teachers work on building trust with you and your child while providing a warm and inviting learning environment.

This age group is active and ready to learn! This is a classroom where your Toddler will be learning such things as how to feed themselves with a spoon and adjust to having one nap during the day while learning social development, self help skills and independence.

Our Toddler classroom is designed for play and uses the Active Learning Series Curriculum for Ones. In this classroom you start to see the use of interest areas, such as manipulatives, creative art, and soft cozy area with books, dramatic play and music. Through these activities, your child will gain knowledge and add to their ever growing experiences through teacher-directed and child-initiated activities. We sanitize all toys in the classroom daily. To further exploration of the world around us, we include daily outdoor play and activities (weather permitting).

Each child’s schedule is based on their own personal eating and sleeping patterns. The infant classroom is designed to provide comfort and interest for both non-mobile and mobile infants. Our Infant classroom uses the Active Learning Series Curriculum for Infants. Planned activities support language development, thinking and use of the body’s senses. Crossroads Academy Before & After School Program provides engaging hands-on activities that will peak their interests, as well time for homework. Our Before & After School time together includes:

Crossroads Academy works closely with your needs for care during school closings and early release days. We provide to and from transportation to McGee’s Elementary and Dixon Elementary.

Full day summer care is also available. We provide an extensive summer care program that includes field trips and fun experiences. Your child will enjoy the wide range of recreational activities that are planned for the summer. Our field trips include activities such as:
